- The latest version of RealPlayer, version 8, is available as a free download. If you’ve tried to access the music on this site, there is a good chance you’ve downloaded it already. If not, now is as good a time as any to get it.
- You’ll find the player at http://www.real.com. RealPlayer Plus, the $29.99 version, is most prominently displayed, naturally, but the free version, RealPlayer 8 Basic, is found toward the bottom of the page under the Top Free Downloads heading. Clicking the words Free Download will open another page where you’ll click the words RealPlayer Basic, found about a quarter of the way down the page.
- A form will appear that you should complete in order to download the free version of RealPlayer. Once you’ve supplied your e-mail address and selected your operating system, language, and connection speed, click the Download FREE RealPlayer 8 Basic button.
- Then, select one of the three RealPlayer Basic download options listed. Since updates can always be accomplished, go with the recommended version at this time. Click the button at the bottom of the page to proceed with the download.
- Next, select the location nearest to you and the download begins. When prompted, specify Save To Disk and select your directory. It is easiest to direct the download to your Desktop. When the download is finished, you’ll see the RealPlayer icon on your screen.
- Double-click it to launch the setup process.
WHAT NEXT?
Once RealPlayer is installed on your computer you will notice that the pages with songs and sounds on the SIMPLY AUSTRALIA site will have a built in Real Audio player on them. The controls are similar to that of normal players... forward, pause and stop.
