It should be noted that folklorist Ron Edwards, who published both the 'Tambaroora Gold' and 'The Bright Shades of Blue' broadsides for the first time in a supplement to the Australian Folklore Society Journal (No. 18, April 1991), considered that there may have been an even earlier source for the latter song.
