Goorianawa
Wheoh's Peaks are lonely, Wheoh's Peaks are high
The lonely Peaks of Wheoh are reaching for the sky
They've watched a northern Valley ten million years or more
The name of that great Valley is Goorianawa.
It is a fertile Valley with black soils reaching deep
Beneath its sunburnt surface the old dark people sleep
Once they hunted Kangaroos with spears so swift and sure
The home of those wild hunters was Goorianawa.
Born in a mystic dreamtime they could not understand
That they would lose forever their old and sacred land
But where they tracked wild emus along the Valley floor
You'll find the golden Wheat fields of Goorianawa.
