John Godl will enthral you with his articles on the enigmatic Eliza Donnithorne and the notorious Frederick Deeming. A regular Simply Australia contributor Warren Fahey provides us with an illuminating personal profile. This coincides with the recent release on CD of valuable Australian recordings from Warren's vast archive. We are thrilled to include selections from these recordings.

This issue is proud to highlight Dudley Pye. Dudley's experiences of Australian showground carnivals during the middle of last century make fascinating reading. Dudley has documented much of this experience as a “warb” in poetry. You can also hear Dudley talking about his “Six of the best”.
