EVERYBODY IS A SOMEBODY

DUDLEY C. PYE A.M, J.P.

EVERYBODY IS A SOMEBODY

Not everybody's a nobody,
Of those you chance to meet,
For everybody is somebody,
If they live in our side street

They come in all the age groups,
Some young some very old,
Some hold a quiet wisdom,
Some loud some brash some bold.

Some live in stately mansions,
Of modern tiles and brick,
In weatherboard and Fibro,
With walls not all that thick.

Some on the Old Age pension,
Others wealthy beyond some dreams,
Each in their own Nirvana,
Whatever all that means.

Some live on the waterfront,
Others back a house or two,
Hopefully the roofs don't leak,
And they've got an inside, 'loo.

Everyone wants to live here,
For quite the longest term,
Because every one is equal,
They all get the ARMY WORM.

There's pleasure in diversity,
Of characters that you meet,
And every body is some body,
If they live in our side street!
